Financial Controller (Pastel Evolution & Micros) (CPT)
Job Summary
Datafin is seeking a skilled Financial Controller proficient in Pastel Evolution and Micros to join a leading Tourism and Hospitality company specializing in luxury accommodation. The role involves managing accounting functions, ensuring compliance with financial procedures, and maintaining internal controls.
Key Responsibilities
Operations
- Compile, capture, and reconcile revenue and month-end journals.
- Manage daily banking activities and bank statement capturing.
- Reconcile credit card and cash transactions.
- Capture and reconcile loan accounts.
- Monitor open accounts and follow up on outstanding items.
- Conduct petty cash count reconciliations.
- Oversee stock procedures, including spot checks in kitchen, maintenance, and housekeeping.
- Identify slow-moving stock and implement solutions.
- Maintain the Fixed Asset Register.
- Manage Boatyard rent (Debtors and Creditors).
- Assist in compiling financial reports.
Administration
- Verify and update pricing.
- Upload function specifications as instructed.
- Manage seasonal updates (menus, drinks, bedding, etc.).
- Track money vouchers.
Management
- Provide support across departments as needed.
- Complete at least two duty shifts per month.
- Assist the Host Manager.
- Ensure staff compliance with financial procedures.
- Generate daily revenue reports.
Human Resources
- Review and verify staff leave documentation.
- Ensure rosters comply with labor laws.
- Handle staff deactivation and final payments.
- Maintain Training Registers.
- Load new staff onto the Biometric Attendance Register.
- Oversee accurate timekeeping and payroll updates.
- Ensure all technology and project management systems are functional.
- Manage company vehicles and storeroom security.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Grade 12/Matric.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Finance.
Experience/Skills
- Minimum 2 years in the Hospitality industry.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel.
- Proficiency in Pastel Evolution, Micros, and Ideal Stock.
