Operational Management & Leadership

  • Develop and maintain long-term financial strategies and policies aligned with the organization’s overall strategy.
  • Lead the preparation of the annual school budget, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and departmental contributions.
  • Identify revenue-generating opportunities and cost-saving measures to meet business objectives.
  • Oversee financial management and lead the Finance Department.
  • Optimize financial reporting systems to ensure accurate and timely information.
  • Manage cash flow efficiently and negotiate optimal borrowing structures as needed.
  • Implement stringent debtor management policies and ensure effective fee collection.
  • Oversee the accounting functions of the school Trust and Pension Fund.

Risk Management

  • Maintain and annually review insurance portfolios to mitigate risks.
  • Oversee health and safety policies and campus security protocols.
  • Ensure school fleet compliance, including roadworthiness and driver licensing.

Annual Audit

  • Ensure timely completion of audits and finalization of Annual Financial Statements.
  • Present financial statements to the Finance Committee for approval.

Contracts & SLA Management

  • Review service provider contracts to assess and mitigate financial risks.
  • Renegotiate contracts and implement controls to address risk factors.

Estate Management

  • Supervise the Facilities team for event management, maintenance, and grounds upkeep.
  • Lead board-approved projects from inception to completion.

General Administration

  • Serve as a member of the College Executive (CEM) and attend all meetings.
  • Maintain relationships with Statutory Authorities and key stakeholders.
  • Oversee IT operations and manage the ICT Systems Manager and ICT Administrator.
  • Lead HR functions and manage the HR Administrator.

Education & Experience

  • Tertiary Accounting qualification (Honors level preferred) with completed articles.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Financial Manager or in a senior Accounting role.
  • Prior experience in an educational institution is advantageous.

Technical Competencies

  • Strong financial acumen and compliance knowledge.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and reporting.
  • Broad business management skills.
