Hire Resolve is partnering with a leading client in the online gambling sector that is shaping the future of digital betting. Our client is dedicated to upholding the highest compliance and integrity standards and is looking for a skilled AML Analyst to join their dynamic team in Cape Town. This role is critical in detecting and preventing financial crime while ensuring regulatory adherence in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess AML/fraud alerts in real time while maintaining detailed audit logs.
- Conduct periodic reviews of high-risk accounts with complete documentation.
- Perform PEP and sanctions screenings with proper audit trails and justifications.
- Engage with customers via calls, chats, and emails regarding AML/fraud-related inquiries.
- Identify and act on fraudulent activities, including account suspensions if necessary.
- Evaluate new users using a risk-based approach and manage high-risk accounts accordingly.
- Conduct Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) reviews, focusing on Source of Funds (SoF) and Source of Wealth (SoW).
- Analyze bank statements and documentation for AML, fraud, or Anti-Financial Crime (AFC) indicators.
- Escalate suspicious activity and file Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) as per regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with the AFC team to enhance internal controls and compliance processes.
- Maintain auditable records in line with LCCP, MLRs, and company policies.
- Stay updated on emerging AFC risks relevant to the online gambling industry.
Requirements
- Fluency in English with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- 1-3 years of AML/EDD experience, preferably within online gambling or financial services.
- Solid knowledge of UK Money Laundering Regulations and Gambling Commission guidelines.
- Ability to interpret financial documents, such as bank statements and payslips.
- Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced Remote environment.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and risk awareness.
- Proactive mindset with the ability to identify risks and take decisive action.
- Independent yet collaborative, working effectively within a small, focused team.
