Purpose Statement
- Lead a Decision Science team, prioritizing and overseeing analysis to transform business data into strategic insights for critical Credit and risk indicators.
- Ensure delivery aligns with Decision Science objectives, processes, and standards.
Qualifications (Minimum)
- Honours Degree in Mathematics or Statistics
- Grade 12 National Certificate / Vocational
Qualifications (Ideal)
- Masters Degree in Mathematics or Statistics
Experience & Knowledge
Minimum Experience:
- 6+ years in an analytical science role (3+ years in leadership/management with validation responsibilities).
- Extracting and aggregating data from relational databases.
- Data mining and predictive modeling.
- Programming (SAS, SQL, R, Python).
- Stakeholder relationship management.
- Delivering in fast-paced environments.
- Developing scorecards from scratch.
Minimum Knowledge:
- Advanced analytics and business analysis.
- Impact assessment of technical issues on solutions.
- People management and project methodologies.
- IT implementation cycles.
- Decision Science best practices (e.g., reusability, continuous monitoring).
- Statistical modeling techniques (logistic regression, Machine Learning, etc.).
- Machine Learning theory and application.
Ideal Experience & Knowledge:
- Banking/Financial sector experience.
- Retail credit industry (Credit cycle).
