About the Role:
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Warehouse Lead to oversee all warehouse and logistics operations, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency while maintaining compliance with company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Excellence Programs & Safety:
- Implement and ensure compliance with VPO and DPO Excellence Programs.
- Maintain territorial safety ownership within the logistics operation.
- Conduct shiftly stacking inspections and monitor fleet systems to improve driver behavior.
- Perform safety behavior observations and track SIF precursor targets.
- Ensure compliance with Department of Labour stacking exemptions and operational SOPs.
Quality Management:
- Ensure adherence to quality standards for inbound and outbound stock, including raw materials and finished goods.
- Conduct quality checks, batch management, and traceability verification.
- Maintain proper stock storage according to FEFO and food safety requirements.
- Process salvage transactions accurately in ERP post quality sign-off.
Stock Count & Inventory Management:
- Execute daily stock counts using HHT for finished goods, raw materials, and empties.
- Investigate discrepancies and perform recounts as required.
- Verify inbound and outbound loads, ensuring physical quantities match ERP and paperwork.
- Accurately record returns and despatches in SAP, monitoring delivery schedules.
Packaging & Brewing Interface:
- Issue materials to packaging and brewing areas and receive finished goods.
- Manage documentation for all movements, ensuring ERP reflects accurate transactions.
- Conduct daily reconciliations with packaging teams and resolve stock discrepancies.
Sorting, Picking, and Overpacking Operations:
- Manage daily priorities, productivity, and safety across sorting, picking, pallet repairs, decanting, and overpacking operations.
- Conduct quality checks, analyze results, and implement corrective actions.
- Process all transactions in ERP to reflect accurate stock movements.
- Ensure FEFO compliance, stock rotation, and blocked stock management.
Breakages, Losses & Reporting:
- Maintain breakages register and process salvages in ERP.
- Track bottle losses and inventory discrepancies to ensure ERP GL balances match physical stock.
- Monitor SCOH and gate control SOPs to prevent unaccountable losses.
Forklift & Equipment Management:
- Log and facilitate forklift breakdowns and monitor fleet systems.
- Manage permit-to-work processes and job card sign-offs.
- Ensure 5S compliance and operational efficiency.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Liaise with internal and external customers.
- Support team goals and VPO principles.
- Participate in shift handovers, ensuring problems are resolved and processes are completed.
Minimum Requirements:
- 3-year diploma (highly advantageous).
- 3+ years of warehouse and/or logistics experience.
- Advanced computer literacy and SAP proficiency.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent planning, problem-solving, and coaching capabilities.
- Ability to work under pressure, adapt to change, and achieve operational targets.
