Job Description
Spar Vacancies is seeking a dedicated Store Manager to oversee all operations of the store, ensuring efficiency, profitability, and excellent customer service. The role involves managing staff, inventory, sales, and finances while maintaining high standards and compliance with company policies.
The Store Manager will lead the store team, implement sales and marketing strategies, control shrinkage, and monitor store performance. This role requires strong leadership, analytical, and organizational skills to drive growth, maintain operational standards, and deliver a positive shopping experience.
Key Performance Areas
• Oversee the daily functions of all store departments
• Manage shrinkage levels in line with company targets and implement procedures to minimize stock loss
• Develop and execute sales and marketing strategies to drive store revenue
• Recruit, train, and motivate store employees
• Negotiate with suppliers and vendors for procurement of supplies
• Allocate budgets and manage store finances effectively
• Evaluate sales reports, customer feedback, and implement improvements
• Maintain inventory standards and monitor stock using SIGMA or similar management systems
• Analyze management reports and make data-driven decisions
• Ensure adherence to company policies and operational protocols
• Plan and implement initiatives to increase store footfall
• Study market trends and competitor strategies to maintain competitiveness
• Set sales targets for teams and periodically review performance
• Apply labor and workplace policies consistently
Minimum Requirements
• Degree or diploma in management or a related field
• 5 or more years’ experience in senior management within the retail industry
• 3–5 years’ experience in retail, merchandising, sales, or a related field
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
• Proven team leadership and ability to motivate employees
• Experience managing staff delegation, attendance, disciplinary, and industrial relations
• Proficiency in retail management software and point-of-sale systems
• Strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and shifts as required
