About the Role:
Senior Reinsurance Accountants in this environment manage the full accounting lifecycle of reinsurance treaties, including premium allocations, recoveries, and financial reporting for structured deals. The role provides exposure to investment-linked insurance products and complex reinsurance structures, with collaboration across finance, legal, and investment teams.
Job Experience & Skills Required:
- BCom in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CA(SA) or CIMA advantageous)
- 5+ years of reinsurance accounting experience, including 2 years in a senior or supervisory role
- Strong understanding of complex reinsurance arrangements, treaty administration, and claims accounting
- Experience with investment or structured insurance products is highly desirable
- Knowledge of IFRS 17, solvency regulations, and multi-entity financial consolidations
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in SAP, Oracle, or reinsurance accounting platforms
