Job Description
Standard Bank Careers is seeking an experienced Senior Manager to oversee the operational implementation of the FCC Conformance Services Framework across the Bank and its jurisdictions. This role ensures that all business activities are conducted in compliance with regulatory requirements, mitigating operational risks, fines, penalties, and reputational damage while enabling the organisation to maintain its competitive advantage.
The Senior Manager will lead compliance monitoring, guide remedial actions, and provide expert advice on AML/CFT/Sanctions policies and procedures. The role also involves supporting the development of effective control frameworks, reporting on conformance reviews, and ensuring that training and business practices align with the latest regulatory standards.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualification
• Bachelor’s Degree in Audit, Business Commerce, Finance and Accounting, Legal, or a related field
Experience
• 5–8 years’ experience in AML/CFT/Sanctions locally and internationally
• Experience in compliance monitoring, testing, and risk and control frameworks
• Knowledge of policy development and implementation, as well as international AML/CFT/Sanctions laws, regulations, guidance, and advisory frameworks
Key Responsibilities
• Accountable for reporting findings from conformance services reviews and supporting the implementation of remedial actions
• Provide guidance to management in developing remediation programs and ensuring gaps identified are incorporated into training materials
• Advise on best-practice processes and systems to monitor, control, and maintain compliance with all policies and standards in line with the approved Compliance Toolbox
• Guide the collection, capture, and maintenance of reliable data to support critical business decision-making
• Drive the implementation of the Functional Framework within the team and communicate updates to ensure alignment with regulatory and compliance requirements
