This role sits within the Risk and Analytics function and plays a critical part in strengthening business performance through advanced analytics, insights, and innovative solutions.

Job Description
The Senior Manager: Credit Risk and Analytics will leverage large, complex datasets to design and implement customer, credit, and loyalty strategies that improve portfolio performance. You will lead high-performing analytics teams, partner with senior stakeholders, and translate insights into measurable commercial impact across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of analysts to design, build, and track credit and loyalty optimisation strategies that drive profitable growth within board-approved constraints
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to identify opportunities, assess value, design test-and-learn frameworks, and scale successful initiatives
  • Present proposed strategies, expected outcomes, and testing approaches to the board and senior executive management
  • Oversee the use of predictive models within decision frameworks to balance risk, cost, and revenue
  • Project manage the implementation of strategy changes into live business systems
  • Drive continuous improvement in analytics capability, governance, and performance measurement

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor of Business Science or Commerce degree preferred
  • At least 8 years’ experience in retail credit, ideally within store card portfolios
  • Proven, hands-on experience building predictive models such as credit scorecards, marketing response models, propensity models, or machine learning models
  • Strong experience using analytics programming languages such as SAS, Python, or R
  • Demonstrated experience applying predictive models to optimise profit by balancing cost and revenue
  • Experience coding within a retail environment
  • Mathematical optimisation experience is highly advantageous
