Dischem Vacancies – Retail Store Assistant

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking enthusiastic Retail Store Assistants to join our talent pool for various store locations. Our talent pool is designed to build a pre-screened group of individuals with the skills and experience needed for future opportunities at Dis-Chem Pharmacies.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12/Matric
  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, SAP)
  • Previous retail experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Address customer compliments and complaints, escalating to management as needed.
  • Build professional relationships with customers and ensure their inquiries are addressed promptly.
  • Resolve customer stock queries and ensure effective communication.
  • Assist customers with inquiries and direct them to the correct departments.
  • Maintain customer turnover per hour in line with company benchmarks.
  • Manage refund and return transactions, ensuring accuracy.
  • Handle back shopping and returned goods according to company policies.
  • Review deliveries and invoices for accuracy and support the Receiving Manager with Distribution Centre claims.
  • Manage and control high-risk stock items.
  • Prepare daily run reconciliations and ensure cashiers have adequate change to maintain smooth operations.
  • Maintain proper document control, including cash float, petty cash, and cash on hand.

Special Conditions of Employment:

  • South African citizen with clear criminal and credit records.
  • Valid driver’s license and/or reliable transport.
