About the Program
Job Description
- Conduct quality control inspections on aircraft interiors, exteriors, parts, and tooling used for aircraft maintenance.
- Prepare aircraft for C of A inspections, acting as Project Manager.
- Oversee QC products on FlySafair aircraft across Domestic, Regional, and International operations.
- Perform and support investigations on operational occurrences.
- Identify gaps in departmental quality control processes and recommend improvements.
- Execute ad hoc duties as assigned by the Manager: QA.
- Issue and manage AMO certification approvals.
- Assist the QA Manager with chairing and attending meetings, including Maintenance, Safety Action Group, Compliance, Operations, and Aircraft Survey meetings.
- Authorise and issue Company Authorisations for Technical and Flight Engineers.
- Conduct random inspections during daily turnarounds, focusing on procedures and maintenance instructions.
- Work closely with maintenance staff during ‘A’ and higher checks to ensure procedural compliance and completion of all maintenance tasks.
- Carry out random inspections in areas opened for maintenance, accounting for prior adjustments.
- Sample maintenance documentation for accuracy and completeness, including Work Packs, ATLRs, CRS, and CRMA.
- Compile monthly reports on QC activities across the organisation.
- Assist QA Manager and Technical Department in drafting quality-related procedures.
- Coordinate and update the Manual of Procedures, Quality Assurance Manual, and work instructions.
Job Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent (Essential)
- Aircraft Maintenance Engineers License (Current or Expired) (Essential)
- Degree or Diploma in Quality Management (Advantageous)
- Safety Management Systems training (Advantageous)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in aviation maintenance (Essential)
- Experience in quality control functions (Essential)
- Aircraft Incident and Accident Investigation course (Advantageous)
- IOSA Auditor training experience (Advantageous)
- Product knowledge, preferably licensed or previously licensed on Boeing 737 aircraft and engines
- Understanding of SACAA regulations (Parts 21, 43, 64, 66, 91, 121, 140, 141, 145, 187) and related technical standards
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
