Job Description

Truworths is seeking a skilled Patternmaker to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in transforming design concepts into accurate patterns, supporting the creation of high-quality garments, and ensuring consistency across all styles. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a methodical approach to pattern management and production support.

Key Responsibilities

Pattern Digitising:

• Digitise hard copy patterns into the Lectra or Gerber pattern system

• Maintain accurate pattern numbering within fit categories

Position Markers:

• Supply position markers and templates for new and existing styles

• Ensure print sizes are correctly proportioned for all garment sizes

Sample Briefs:

• Collaborate with the Sample Co-ordinator and Pattern Maker to meet sample turn-around deadlines

• Provide sample patterns for repeat styles along with corresponding position markers

Pattern Changes:

• Implement minor styling changes in the Lectra or Gerber pattern system

• Add or delete patterns in the system according to fit specification changes

Qualifications and Experience

• Completed a course in pattern making using Lectra or Gerber computerized systems, or equivalent experience in manual pattern making

Competencies

• Methodical and consistent approach to pattern storage and numbering

• Attention to detail and ability to ensure accurate pattern application across styles and fits

• Strong organizational skills to support efficient pattern workflow
