As a Manager SCP, you will drive the execution of the company’s strategic objectives through effective supply chain planning. You will lead and guide operational planning teams, ensuring standardized processes, tools, and reports are used to achieve planning goals. Your focus will include improving sales, reducing waste, and delivering projects that enhance supply chain profitability. You will also ensure seamless communication and integration with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders, driving your team to successfully execute sales strategies and trade plans.

Minimum Requirements

• BCOM Logistics or Degree in Quantitative Analytics, Operational Research, Industrial Engineering, or Applied Mathematics
• 2+ years in supply chain planning, including at least 1 year within Pick n Pay
• Knowledge of planning IT systems and tools such as SAP ERP, F&R, Analysis, Power BI
• Understanding of IT, automation, and system processes
• Knowledge of economics, market dynamics, and cost-to-serve principles
• Understanding of Commercial Strategy, budgets, DC and store operations
• Familiarity with planning team procedures, business/system rules, and cross-functional collaboration

Supply Chain Profitability

• Understand value chain cost and income components and the planning team’s role in influencing them
• Identify and implement operational changes to reduce distribution costs without impacting KPIs
• Highlight system, process, report, and resource needs to enable value chain efficiencies
• Develop strong vendor relationships and drive joint efficiency initiatives

Strategic Sales Planning

• Ensure compliance with promo and event planning processes
• Guide teams in creating category-specific sales plans
• Collaborate with Commercial to meet planning budgets and targets
• Escalate significant differences between forecasts and sales plans
• Monitor category planning metrics, highlight risks, and provide input on promo, pricing, and range strategies

Strategic Operational Execution

• Provide planners with guidance to execute category sales plans
• Ensure use of standardized planning and reporting tools
• Track KPI performance, highlight risks, and implement proactive solutions
• Ensure planners analyze root causes of performance issues and implement corrective actions

Continuous Improvement & Standardisation

• Collaborate with Planning HOD to enhance processes, tools, reports, and systems
• Quantify business impact of improvement initiatives and ensure successful implementation
• Contribute ideas for better ways of working and planning
• Assist in creating annual and quarterly operating plans aligned to supply chain purpose and strategy

Stakeholder Engagement

• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Collaborate to create accurate, realistic sales plans reflecting business, category, and promotional strategies
• Work with technical teams to maintain SAP shelf life accuracy
• Support new product launches and promotional forecasts with vendors
• Address root causes of poor strike rates and implement preventative solutions

Team Leadership & Development

• Provide clear direction, guidance, and support for team execution
• Identify training needs through observation and consultation
• Develop teams to enhance performance and achieve supply chain objectives
