About the Role:

Pick n Pay is seeking a talented and dedicated Manager for our Clothing Store. This position is ideal for individuals with a strong background in retail management who are passionate about fashion and committed to delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service:
    • Uphold rigorous customer service standards.
    • Address customer service requests, promote products and services, and ensure adherence to Visual Merchandising (VM) standards.
    • Execute all plans and promotions effectively to enhance the customer journey.
  • People Management:
    • Assist the Store Manager with managing staff-related functions, including recruitment, training, and development.
    • Address employee performance issues, manage talent, and support succession planning.
    • Lead and motivate a team to achieve store goals and deliver outstanding service.
  • Daily Operations & Stock Management:
    • Open and close the store following company security procedures.
    • Handle administrative tasks such as staff scheduling, invoicing, pricing, and banking.
    • Oversee stock management, including offloading, capturing, packing, merchandising, and displaying merchandise per company policy.
    • Monitor stock quality, manage shrinkage, and ensure adherence to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards.
  • Sales & Promotions:
    • Drive sales to meet budget targets, monitor sales performance, and conduct promotions.
    • Implement markdowns and reductions to maximize sales opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a managerial role or related field.
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, Excel, Word, and MS Teams/Zoom.
  • Willingness to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and after-hours stock takes.
  • Flexibility to be transferred between stores as needed.
  • Ability to undertake physical, hands-on tasks.
  • Successful completion of an assessment.
