About the Role:
Dis-Chem Pharmacies in Cape Town is seeking a committed DC Inbound Clerk to join their Distribution Centre team. The role focuses on achieving operational excellence by accurately receiving and processing incoming goods delivered to the warehouse.

Minimum Requirements:

Essential:

• Grade 12 / Matric or Senior Certificate with English and Mathematics
• Minimum 1 year relevant experience in a Distribution, Logistics, or Supply Chain environment

Advantageous:

• Experience in Logistics or Supply Chain Management
• Supply Chain or Logistics Degree or Diploma

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify and check deliveries against inbound delivery notes and invoices for accuracy
• Confirm that delivered goods match company purchase orders and invoices
• Scan barcodes and capture quantities, batch details, expiry dates, and other relevant information during receiving
• Ensure quantities delivered match the invoice
• Double-check all Handling Units (HU’s) before release for pack-away
• Assist the Receiving Manager in preparing and logging warehouse claims
• Despatch returns to suppliers in accordance with company policy and SOPs
• Maintain stock flow through receiving; ensure deliveries are receipted within 48 hours and packed onto racking
• Process all supplier returns in compliance with SOPs
• Adhere to food handling SOPs at all times
• Assist in training new staff members
• Be flexible to rotate within departments and perform other functions as required

Competencies:

Essential:

• Knowledge of Distribution Centre, logistics, and supply chain operations
• Understanding of business measures and targets relevant to the role
• Strong English communication skills – read, write, and speak
• Trustworthy and honest

Special Conditions of Employment:

• Flexibility to work according to business needs, including day, night, weekend, holiday shifts, and overtime
• Physical ability to walk, stand, climb, kneel, push/pull objects, lift and move items, and perform repetitive bending
• South African citizen with a clear criminal and credit record
• Valid driver’s license and/or reliable transport
