Job Description
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented DC Inbound Clerk to join their distribution centre team. The purpose of this role is to ensure accurate receiving of all incoming goods and maintain operational excellence within the warehouse environment.

Minimum Requirements

Essential:

• Grade 12 / Matric or Senior Certificate with English and Mathematics
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a distribution, logistics, or supply chain environment

Advantageous:

• Experience in logistics or supply chain management
• Relevant degree or diploma in Supply Chain or Logistics

Key Responsibilities

• Verify and check deliveries against inbound documents and invoices to ensure accuracy
• Confirm that goods received match purchase orders and invoiced items
• Scan barcodes and capture quantities, batch numbers, and expiry dates during receiving
• Ensure delivered quantities correspond with invoices
• Double-check all handling units before releasing them for packing
• Assist with preparing and logging warehouse claims
• Manage supplier returns in line with company policies and procedures
• Ensure all incoming deliveries are processed within 48 hours and packed away efficiently
• Maintain accurate stock flow through the receiving process
• Process returns to suppliers according to standard operating procedures
• Adhere to food handling and safety standards at all times
• Support the training of other team members
• Be flexible to rotate duties and assist in other areas when required

Competencies

• Knowledge of distribution centre, logistics, and supply chain operations
• Understanding of business targets and performance measures
• Strong communication skills in English (read, write, and speak)
• Ability to build effective working relationships
• Honest, reliable, and trustworthy

• Willing to work shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime
• Physically fit and able to perform tasks such as standing, walking, lifting, and bending
