About the Program:

Dis-Chem is seeking a qualified Clinic Nurse Practitioner Nurse to join their team at The Crescent-Umhlanga. The role focuses on managing and operating a profitable Primary Health Care Clinic located within a pharmacy, within the scope of a registered nursing practitioner.

Minimum Requirements:

Essential:

• Grade 12 – Matric
• Tertiary qualification in General Nursing
• Degree/Diploma in Midwifery
• Registration with South African Nursing Council (SANC)
• Nursing practitioner must obtain BHF registration
• 2-3 years’ experience as a Primary Health Care Clinic Sister
• Computer literacy – Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

Advantageous:

• Minimum 5 years practicing as a Primary Health Care Sister
• Familiarity with Patient Record System, CKS, and Allegra

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform Clinic Nurse Practitioner Nurse duties in accordance with industry regulations and best practices
• Manage clinic operations and set objectives to enhance patient flow
• Ensure all clinic services are available and operational
• Maintain accurate patient records and follow up on communications
• Keep clinic stock and equipment in optimal working condition and ensure sufficient inventory
• Process claims accurately and promptly
• Build and maintain strong relationships with patients, store and dispensary managers, colleagues, medical aids, suppliers, and community healthcare stakeholders

Competencies:

Essential:

• Expertise in community health nursing, primary health care, occupational health nursing, family planning, cytology, IUD, pharmacology, EPI/cold chain management, STDs, emergency care, HIV/AIDS pre- and post-counseling, breastfeeding, pathology, wound care
• Participation in quarterly CPD training and in-service training with Dis-Chem
• Strong English communication skills (written and oral)
• Understanding of financial implications related to clinic targets
• Analytical skills for monthly clinic statistics and commission tracking
• Emotional intelligence, entrepreneurial mindset, trustworthy and honest
• Strong time management and self-directed work ethic
• Ability to lead and manage a team

Advantageous:

• Bilingual
• Knowledge of business objectives
• Certifications: Baby Immunisation (DoH/Sanofi Pasteur), Family Planning (DoH), Primary Health Care, Breastfeeding, Disease Management

Special Conditions of Employment:

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transport
• South African citizenship
