About the Program:
Dis-Chem is seeking a qualified Clinic Nurse Practitioner Nurse to join their team at The Crescent-Umhlanga. The role focuses on managing and operating a profitable Primary Health Care Clinic located within a pharmacy, within the scope of a registered nursing practitioner.
Minimum Requirements:
Essential:
- Grade 12 – Matric
- Tertiary qualification in General Nursing
- Degree/Diploma in Midwifery
- Registration with South African Nursing Council (SANC)
- Nursing practitioner must obtain BHF registration
- 2-3 years’ experience as a Primary Health Care Clinic Sister
- Computer literacy – Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Advantageous:
- Minimum 5 years practicing as a Primary Health Care Sister
- Familiarity with Patient Record System, CKS, and Allegra
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform Clinic Nurse Practitioner Nurse duties in accordance with industry regulations and best practices
- Manage clinic operations and set objectives to enhance patient flow
- Ensure all clinic services are available and operational
- Maintain accurate patient records and follow up on communications
- Keep clinic stock and equipment in optimal working condition and ensure sufficient inventory
- Process claims accurately and promptly
- Build and maintain strong relationships with patients, store and dispensary managers, colleagues, medical aids, suppliers, and community healthcare stakeholders
Competencies:
Essential:
- Expertise in community health nursing, primary health care, occupational health nursing, family planning, cytology, IUD, pharmacology, EPI/cold chain management, STDs, emergency care, HIV/AIDS pre- and post-counseling, breastfeeding, pathology, wound care
- Participation in quarterly CPD training and in-service training with Dis-Chem
- Strong English communication skills (written and oral)
- Understanding of financial implications related to clinic targets
- Analytical skills for monthly clinic statistics and commission tracking
- Emotional intelligence, entrepreneurial mindset, trustworthy and honest
- Strong time management and self-directed work ethic
- Ability to lead and manage a team

- Knowledge of business objectives
- Certifications: Baby Immunisation (DoH/Sanofi Pasteur), Family Planning (DoH), Primary Health Care, Breastfeeding, Disease Management
