About the Program

Job Description

• Perform various maintenance duties, including line maintenance inspections and routine avionics system checks.
• Conduct fault finding and rectify issues based on identified faults.
• Execute weekly service checks and thorough daily aircraft inspections to detect potential defects.
• Perform maintenance tasks to ensure aircraft airworthiness.
• Follow established maintenance procedures and comply with all safety standards.
• Accurately record and sign off all activities as per SACAA requirements to ensure legal compliance.
• Adhere to health and safety protocols to protect personnel, prevent fire hazards, and avoid accidents/incidents.
• Maintain safe and organized work areas, equipment, and tooling prior to starting tasks.
• Apply analytical thinking and troubleshooting techniques to identify root causes and implement solutions.
• Communicate clearly and professionally to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of maintenance tasks.

Job Requirements

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Trade Test Certificate in an avionics-related field (Avionician, Aircraft Instrument Mechanic, Aircraft Electrician, or Aircraft Radio Technician) recognized by SACAA.
• Licensed AME with SACAA W1, W2, W3.
• B737-800 system courses required; B737-8(MAX) system and Oxygen courses advantageous.
• Minimum 5 years aviation maintenance experience, including Line and SVM exposure.
• Previous experience on B737-800 avionics systems required; B737-8(MAX) avionics experience advantageous.
• OJT experience advantageous.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, public holidays, and overtime as required.
• Availability for local and international travel at short notice.
• Valid South African passport and driver’s license.
• Strong understanding of technical aircraft publications, documentation (including SWPM), and avionics schematic systems.
• Knowledge of aviation regulations and safety standards.
• Excellent troubleshooting experience on B737-800.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
