About the Role
The Beauty Assistant supports the Store Manager by servicing the entire beauty department and delivering exceptional customer experiences. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about beauty and skincare, confident in engaging customers, and enthusiastic about helping people look and feel their best.
Job Purpose
Deliver service excellence through professional, knowledgeable advice on beauty and skincare products, effective merchandise promotion and management, and high standards of housekeeping to build customer loyalty and maximise sales.
Duties & Responsibilities
Key Objectives:
- Consult with customers, answer product-related queries, and recommend suitable products and services based on individual needs.
- Drive sales performance within the beauty department through promotion, cross-selling, and up-selling to achieve monthly targets.
- Monitor sales trends, evaluate product performance, and provide input to improve product offerings and increase sales.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of beauty products, ranges, trends, promotions, and in-store events to ensure accurate customer guidance.
- Execute all operational activities within the beauty department, including stock control, shrinkage prevention, and high standards of housekeeping and administration.
- Ensure visual merchandising, in-store presentation, and promotional standards are consistently maintained.
- Deliver superior customer service by acting as a brand ambassador with a friendly, visible, and professional presence on the floor.
- Promote the Clicks clubcard and enroll new members to achieve participation targets.
- Increase profitability and brand loyalty through the promotion of private label and exclusive products.
- Support the Group’s vision by living and driving company values to position the brand as the customer’s first choice health and beauty retailer.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential: Grade 12
Desirable: Relevant beauty or skincare qualification
Desirable: Experience in beauty, skincare, retail, FMCG, sales, or marketing environments
Skills, Abilities & Job-Related Knowledge
- Strong understanding and application of selling principles
- Retail/FMCG experience with knowledge of merchandising and promotions
- Understanding of stock management procedures
- Knowledge of customer service excellence
- In-depth knowledge of beauty and skincare products
