Job Related Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a financial accounting role
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
  • Process- and control-driven mindset
  • Ability to perform under pressure and consistently meet deadlines
  • Solid understanding of financial statements and management reports
  • Valid, unendorsed driver’s license
  • Strong team player with excellent collaboration skills
  • Availability to support period-end close activities outside normal business hours
  • Self-starter with the ability to use initiative and work independently
  • Effective liaison with AP, AR, CM, and senior management
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise, monitor, and evaluate daily accounting operations
  • Develop, implement, and maintain accounting principles, policies, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely monthly reporting
  • Analyse departmental workflows to improve efficiency while maintaining accuracy, compliance, and reliability
  • Support the development and rollout of enhanced procedures and systems to improve departmental and RSSC workflows
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of financial reporting structures and the general ledger
  • Ensure compliance with the group accounting manual, with accurate processing of journals and proper reporting of statutory differences
  • Review and manage month-end checklists to ensure all activities are completed on time
  • Review balance sheet, payroll reconciliations, and advise on risks, opportunities, and process improvements
  • Prepare and review payroll journals and provision calculations
  • Review fixed and leased asset registers, schedules, and reconciliations, ensuring quarterly asset verifications in line with group requirements
  • Review VAT reconciliations and intercompany rebills, accruals, and matching reports
  • Monitor intercompany accounts and reduce the risk of out-of-period costs
  • Review country-specific statutory reports and supporting journals
  • Ensure recurring allocations are maintained and reviewed on a monthly and annual basis
  • Monitor AR and AP reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
  • Maintain strong accounting controls through effective policies and procedures
  • Support the management of the Accounting Department cost centre budget
  • Ensure invoice coding guides are updated and reviewed quarterly with Business and Financial Controllers
  • Review payroll salary and accrual journals to confirm correct account usage
  • Provide ongoing support to the accounting team and both Financial and Business Controllers
  • Prepare ad hoc and special financial reports by analysing account information and trends
  • Conduct monthly coaching sessions and manage KPI and performance reviews

  • Perform ad hoc tasks as requested by management
