Job Overview:
Transnet seeks a highly skilled Specialist, SAP ABAP to design, develop, and implement robust solutions that optimize business processes and applications. The ideal candidate will enhance reporting functionalities, graphical interfaces, and system integrations within SAP IS-OIL, FI, SD, MM, QM, PM, and Webdynpro. This role requires providing technical leadership across the full software development lifecycle, ensuring seamless integration with external systems and adherence to Transnet’s quality and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, Develop, and Implement SAP Solutions: Create efficient ABAP programs, reports, interfaces, and workflows aligned with business needs.
- Testing and Quality Assurance: Develop test plans, perform unit and integration testing, and ensure solutions meet performance benchmarks.
- Change Management: Manage SAP client changes per Transnet’s Change Control procedures.
- Full Lifecycle Support: Conduct analysis, development, deployment, maintenance, and optimization of SAP modules, portals, and external system integrations.
- Research and Innovation: Explore new SAP functionalities and modules to drive continuous improvement.
- Documentation and Knowledge Transfer: Maintain technical documentation and mentor users to enhance SAP proficiency.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Debug and resolve system issues, providing post-implementation support.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT (3–5 years’ experience) or National Higher Diploma (5–8 years’ experience).
- Certification: SAP ABAP certification is mandatory.
- Technical Expertise: Proven experience in SAP ABAP, Webdynpro, SAP IS-OIL, FI, SD, MM, QM, and PM modules.
- Integration Skills: Proficiency in Web Services, XML transformations, and SAP-non-SAP system integrations.
- Industry Exposure: Knowledge of pipeline operations or SCADA systems is advantageous.
