The Supervisor plays an important role in supporting the Store Manager to drive sales, increase profitability, and maintain efficient store operations. This position focuses on managing stock effectively, controlling expenses according to budget, and ensuring that daily store activities run smoothly.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to motivate a team while maintaining high operational standards.

Qualifications

  • Matric or equivalent qualification
  • Three to five years of retail experience as a Shop Assistant
  • Computer literacy
  • Good communication skills
  • Additional qualifications related to retail or business will be advantageous

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage and communicate effectively with customers
  • Accurate and efficient point-of-sale and till operation skills
  • High standards of work on the sales floor with dedication to maintaining store quality and housekeeping standards
  • Proactive approach and willingness to take initiative when tasks need to be completed
  • Strong attendance record and reliability
  • Commitment to consistently applying company values, policies, and procedures
  • Good understanding of visual merchandising strategies, including stock intensity and SKU availability
  • Strong planning, delegation, and team leadership abilities
  • High level of personal integrity
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure
  • Flexibility to work shopping centre trading hours
  • Knowledge of receiving procedures and stock handling processes
  • Ability to maintain the stockroom layout according to company specifications

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Store Manager in achieving sales targets and maximizing store profitability
  • Assist with merchandise management and ensure proper stock control practices are followed
  • Monitor and support stock loss prevention procedures
  • Provide assistance with financial processes and ensure accurate execution of store transactions
  • Manage and maintain store administration and operational processes
  • Provide information and operational support to store management
  • Monitor stock levels and ensure adherence to company stock holding policies
  • Assist with human resource-related activities and support staff management within the store
