Job Description
The Product Developer is responsible for integrating and implementing the To Go and Our Kitchen product strategy into end-to-end development plans, ensuring innovative, high-quality, and sustainable products that meet customer needs and market expectations.

Understand retail competitor landscapes and evolving customer need states to deliver differentiated products

Translate customer insights and market trends into clear, actionable product development briefs for suppliers

Drive and uphold world-class product and packaging standards with a strong sustainability focus

Partner with Central Quality and suppliers to conduct benchmarking and translate insights into product strategies

Apply deep understanding of food science, cooking processes, growing programs, aesthetics, sensorial elements, and food safety within the category

Stay informed of industry advancements and integrate relevant innovations into product development

Inspire and influence product teams and stakeholders to achieve industry-leading outcomes

Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver key product development milestones with a strong commercial and sustainability lens

Ensure milestones are achieved timeously while maintaining consistent quality standards

Foster a culture of creativity, learning, empowerment, and continuous improvement

Demonstrate a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence, setting high standards for the team

Share culinary and technical product knowledge across suppliers, matrix teams, and product development teams

Own and drive product development processes and supporting systems

Work closely with the Packaging Support Specialist to ensure packaging considerations are integrated throughout development

Manage product development from concept to post-launch, including understanding supplier production processes
Minimum Requirements
-
Relevant Degree, Diploma, or qualification in Food and Consumer Science, Food Technology, Food Science, or Culinary Arts
-
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the food industry or a related sector

At least 3 years’ experience in food product development, retail, FMCG brand management, or hospitality

Experience working cross-functionally or within a matrix environment

Training or experience in brand management, product ranging, and product development
