Sanlam Vacancies – Senior IT Developer

Role Overview:

We are seeking a Senior IT Developer to join our team. This role is integral to developing and maintaining innovative solutions to meet business and integration requirements. You will provide technical support, oversee the software development lifecycle, and ensure the highest quality standards in our technical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain innovative solutions to fulfill business and integration needs.
  • Provide technical support for ETL systems and in-house processes.
  • Participate in all stages of the development lifecycle.
  • Assist in designing and implementing processes.
  • Develop and maintain integration solutions.
  • Write and maintain quality technical and functional specifications.
  • Quality assure software development code.
  • Adhere to SanFin’s software development lifecycle and policies.
  • Develop and maintain coding standards.
  • Maintain existing applications and processes.
  • Provide after-hours support for the SanFin technical environment.
  • Conduct bi-annual Disaster Recovery tests.
  • Offer support and guidance to other developers.

What Will Make You Successful in This Role:

  • Strong knowledge of Financial Markets and Credit Risk is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in data warehouse principles.
  • Experience with MS SQL and Sybase is required.
  • Excellent knowledge of SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) and Power BI.
  • Experience with Murex Exchange (MxML) integration is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in SSIS, Glassfish application server, and Visual Studio 2017.
  • Expertise in C#.NET, SQL Server 2016, Unified Modeling Language (UML), Java, C++, and Team Foundation Server.
  • Good knowledge of Windows Servers and Unix/Sun Solaris.
  • Solid mathematical knowledge.
  • Minimum of 8 years of development experience.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree or Diploma with 9 to 10 years of related experience.
