Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Insurance Advisor specializing in Marine and Pleasure Craft insurance to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong sales background, a passion for the marine industry, and exceptional relationship-building skills.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Experience in insurance sales, particularly marine insurance, OR a proven sales track record in another industry with the ability to transition into marine insurance.
- Background in boating, yachting, or marine services is highly preferred.
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation.
- Consistent history of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
- Strong networking and client relationship skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working independently.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales & Business Development
- Generate leads and expand the client base within the boating and marine sector.
- Promote marine and pleasure craft insurance at yacht clubs, marinas, and boating events.
- Identify cross-selling opportunities for related insurance products.
2. Client Relationship Management
- Build long-term relationships with yacht club members, boat owners, and marine professionals.
- Conduct client consultations to assess vessel insurance needs.
- Clearly explain policy options, benefits, exclusions, and pricing.
3. Policy Servicing & Administration
- Prepare and present insurance quotes, proposals, and renewals.
- Efficiently manage policy applications, amendments, and endorsements.
- Assist clients with claims, ensuring smooth coordination with insurers and repair facilities.
4. Industry Engagement & Market Knowledge
- Stay updated on marine insurance trends, products, and underwriting requirements.
- Network with yacht clubs, boat brokers, and marine service providers.
- Represent the company at boating events, regattas, and industry gatherings.
5. Compliance & Professional Standards
- Ensure all sales activities comply with company policies and regulations.
- Maintain accurate CRM records for clients, policies, and claims.
- Uphold high standards of professionalism and customer service.
