Job Description

Truworths is seeking a skilled Sample Cutter to join our Manufacturing division. The successful candidate will play a vital role in preparing fabric for sample garments, ensuring precision and quality in every cut to support the design and production process. This position is based at our Truworths Head Office in Cape Town.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare pattern pieces and determine fabric layouts before sewing

• Cut multiple layers of material following pattern outlines using electric knives or other cutting tools; delicate fabrics may be cut by hand

• Operate computer-controlled cutting machines where applicable

• Ensure accuracy in cutting to avoid costly errors

• Collaborate with the design and production teams to meet sample deadlines

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum Grade 7

• At least 2 years’ experience in sample cutting within a design or manufacturing environment
