Purpose of the Job
The Sales Representative is responsible for promoting and selling Value Services, with a focus on Value Truck Rental, while cross-selling other offerings including Value Logistics, Linehaul, Value Equipment, Fridge Fleet, Freightpak, Warehousing, Clearing and Forwarding, Moving Billboards, and Express Services.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Management

  • Gather information on clients’ transport, distribution, and expenditure.
  • Evaluate potential expenditure and apply focus factors (G, S, B).
  • Understand competitors in your area.
  • Build strong relationships and establish customer trust.
  • Identify customers’ service requirements and provide accurate quotes for Value Services.
  • Grow existing accounts by understanding clients’ businesses and cross-selling additional Value services.
  • Close deals and target national accounts.
  • Understand clients’ contracts with Value and ensure services meet current requirements.
  • Maintain service levels according to Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Maintain high-frequency contact with business decision-makers.
  • Stay updated on all product knowledge.
  • Identify client problems and resolve queries promptly, including invoice issues, claims, and PODs.
  • Project a professional image at all times.
  • Adhere to and enforce company policies and procedures.
  • Submit sales reports accurately and on time.
  • Meet team expectations, budgets, and targets set by management.
  • Assist with additional tasks or duties as reasonably requested, aligned with organisational objectives.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • Experience in a sales environment
  • Proficiency in English and Afrikaans

  • Ability to apply appropriate sales techniques to different situations
  • Capability to determine and meet customer needs
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • Customer Relationship Management expertise
  • Understanding of risk management principles and ability to handle outcomes independently
