About the Program

Value Logistics offers an integrated suite of transport, rental, and logistics solutions designed to support customers across multiple industries. The Sales Representative plays a key role in promoting Value services and driving cross-selling across the full service portfolio.

Purpose of the Job

The Sales Representative is responsible for promoting and selling Value services, with a primary focus on Truck Rental while actively cross-selling Logistics, Linehaul, Equipment, Fridge Fleet, Freightpak, Warehousing, Clearing and Forwarding, Moving Billboards, and Express services. The role drives new business, grows existing accounts, and builds trusted customer partnerships to achieve sustainable revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Management

  • Analyse customer transport and distribution needs, including current spend and operational challenges
  • Assess potential spend and apply focus factors to prioritise opportunities
  • Maintain strong awareness of competitor activity within the assigned territory
  • Build trusted relationships with customers and key decision-makers
  • Identify customer requirements and provide accurate, solution-based quotations
  • Grow existing accounts by understanding customer businesses and cross-selling Value services
  • Close sales opportunities and convert prospects into long-term customers
  • Target and develop national accounts within the portfolio
  • Understand customer contracts and ensure services align with current requirements
  • Gain deep insight into customer operations to unlock growth opportunities
  • Add value to every customer interaction with clear objectives for each visit
  • Ensure service delivery aligns with Standard Operating Procedures and agreed service levels
  • Maintain high-frequency engagement with key business influencers
  • Keep product knowledge up to date across all service offerings
  • Proactively resolve customer queries, including invoices, claims, and POD requests
  • Maintain a professional image and represent the brand positively at all times
  • Adhere to and uphold company policies and procedures
  • Submit sales and activity reports accurately and timeously
  • Meet team expectations, budgets, and management-set targets
  • Support additional tasks aligned to business objectives as required

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • Proven experience in a sales environment
  • Proficiency in English and Afrikaans

Skills Required

  • Ability to apply appropriate sales techniques for different customer scenarios
  • Strong capability to identify and respond to customer needs within the assigned territory
  • Effective time management and prioritisation skills
  • Strong customer relationship management skills
  • Sound understanding of risk management principles
  • Ability to take ownership of outcomes and make independent decisions
