Sales Co
About the Role
The Sales Co is responsible for driving sales through active Customer interaction, accurate costing of building plans, issuing precise quotations, and maintaining high standards of housekeeping and merchandising. The role also ensures a cost-effective and efficient delivery service.
Key Responsibilities
Sales
- Issue and follow up on quotations to generate sales.
- Manage the quote process, including special orders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Read building plans and prepare quotations within agreed timeframes.
- Handle telephone calls, ensuring follow-ups are completed promptly.
- Conduct competitor analysis to maintain store competitiveness.
- Communicate bulk deposit transfers to Customers.
- Promote loyalty programs, including VIC and Charge Card Customers.
Deliveries
- Manage an efficient delivery service and ensure correct rates are charged.
- Ensure deliveries are dispatched within required time limits.
- Communicate delays to Customers and arrange suitable solutions.
Customer Service
- Oversee effective Customer Service Desk management.
- Record, follow up, and resolve Customer complaints promptly.
- Ensure all Customers are attended to efficiently.
- Maintain professional telephone etiquette and respond to calls promptly.
Store Standards
- Implement Ready for Business checklists and processes across all areas of responsibility.
- Ensure General Assistants, Sales Advisors, and Forklift Drivers maintain merchandising and planogram standards.
- Apply price changes in line with advertised prices.
People Management
- Ensure all General Assistants, Sales Advisors, and Forklift Drivers are present and performing their responsibilities.
- Maintain trained backups for all team members.
- Monitor execution of daily duties, including Ready for Business and Beyond My Control processes.
Safety (OHSA) Compliance
- Ensure adherence to safety standards.
- Confirm Employees under your supervision wear appropriate protective clothing and use equipment safely.
Security Awareness
- Monitor and report any suspicious activity inside and outside the Store.
- Maintain password and system security protocols.
Requirements
- Grade 12 with 5 years related experience, or 10 years’ relevant work experience.
- Plan reading experience advantageous.
- Strong communication skills in English and the local dominant language.
- Above-average numeric skills.
- Proven ability to provide exceptional Customer Service.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Computer literate with strong organising, planning, and delegation skills.
