Purpose of the Job
The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing projects with a hands-on approach, ensuring full understanding of project content and alignment with operational objectives. This role aims to deliver projects within timelines and achieve the required outcomes for the Logistics division and related business areas.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management
- Manage projects, including improvement initiatives, from start to finish.
- Collaborate closely with IT and operational teams to ensure successful project completion.
- Achieve tangible business outcomes using a structured project management approach.
- Develop detailed project plans and schedules, estimating timelines and resources.
- Apply project management methodologies to plan, assign roles, and track progress.
- Monitor project status and report on progress, highlighting potential risks or delays.
- Ensure timely completion of tasks and delivery of project objectives.
- Conduct project administration including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, documenting minutes, and tracking action points.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure proper filing and documentation.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders and provide timely updates.
Project Related Tasks
- Analyse and review business and operational processes to support project outcomes.
- Gather and document business requirements and findings.
- Create process documentation, process flows, and other solution-oriented materials.
- Conduct research to support project implementation and improvements.
- Prepare reports and presentations on project findings and recommendations.
General Responsibilities
- Perform general administrative tasks.
- Maintain general housekeeping and organisational standards.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Diploma or degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Business Management advantageous
- PMI certification preferred (CAPM or PMP)
- Minimum 3 years of project management experience
