Product Owner – Job Description

• Oversee the day-to-day delivery of assigned digital product streams
• Manage groomed backlogs and sprint cycles for individual products
• Own and refine the product backlog, ensuring user stories and designs are well-defined and prioritised
• Support sprint execution by clarifying requirements and providing actionable user stories for development teams
• Translate the Product Manager’s vision and roadmap into actionable backlog items
• Align feature releases with roadmap milestones and business priorities
• Collaborate with UX/UI teams to ensure optimal customer journeys and feature usability
• Validate product increments with users to confirm value delivery
• Track feature performance metrics and leverage data-driven insights for enhancements
• Monitor sprint-level KPIs, including velocity, story completion, and defect rates
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
• Document user stories, acceptance criteria, workflows, and training materials to build an accessible knowledge base
• Provide feedback loops from delivery into strategic planning for the Product Manager
• Coordinate release planning and communicate project status, timelines, and changes
• Identify blockers and work with teams to resolve issues efficiently
• Streamline development processes to improve operational efficiency and reduce time-to-market
• Ensure team output aligns with the product roadmap and business objectives
• Support training, adoption, and smooth handover of new releases to business teams

Product Owner – Job Requirements

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field
• Scrum certifications (advantageous)
• Minimum 4 years’ experience as a Business Analyst or Product Owner
• Experience managing software projects and digital solutions
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies, backlog management, and user story mapping
• Ability to execute product lifecycle management through sprint planning
• Understanding of UX principles and acceptance criteria definition
• Practical experience with relevant tools and platforms
