SAB Vacancies – Packaging Operator

SAB is looking for a Packaging Operator to join our team. The Packaging Operator is responsible for safely operating and maintaining defined packaging equipment and related processes to achieve optimal effectiveness. If you have a background in operating machinery in a fast-paced environment, this could be the role for you.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Equipment Operation
  • Safely operate packaging equipment, both manual and automatic, following established standards.
  • Implement the production plan for your shift, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to quality and productivity goals.
• Process Management
  • Monitor and manage associated packaging processes and performance, taking corrective action as needed.
  • Use PIMS & POMS systems to track and analyze process trends, addressing any negative deviations.
  • Complete administration tasks such as process tracking and report generation.
• Safety and Compliance
  • Ensure and maintain a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to safety guidelines and protocols.
  • Contribute to Accident Reports (AB) and take part in Operational Feedback Reviews (OFRs) as required.

Profile Requirements

• Grade 12 certificate
• Post-matric or equivalent (e.g., N4) National Diploma or similar qualification
• IOB (Institute of Brewing) Certificate is an added advantage
• At least 9 months of on-the-job training with a minimum completion of SKAP within 12 months
• Experience in a packaging environment within the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) industry
