Boxer Vacancies – OHS (Occupational, Health and Safety) Officer

Location: Distribution Centre – Muldersdrift
Boxer is seeking a knowledgeable and proactive OHS (Occupational, Health and Safety) Officer to lead and implement effective safety strategies across the business. This role is critical in ensuring a safe, compliant, and risk-controlled working environment at our Distribution Centre in Muldersdrift.
Minimum Requirements

National Diploma or 3-year Degree in Safety / Occupational Health and Safety

Environmental certificate (advantageous)
-
3–5 years’ relevant OHS experience
-
Strong understanding of the OHS Act, SANS regulations, Water and Pollution Act, and Environmental Act
-
Strong interpersonal, listening, and relationship-building skills
-
Proficiency in Excel
Key Responsibilities
Design & Implementation
-
Develop, implement, and review OHS risk policies, procedures, and systems
External Stakeholder Engagement
-
Liaise with the Department of Labour, Fire Department, Health Department, and other authorities for OHS reporting and compliance
Risk Identification & Evaluation
-
Identify, assess, and monitor OHS risks in line with legislation, building regulations, insurance requirements, and national standards

Stay updated on new regulations, amendments, and compliance requirements

Conduct site inspections, compile checklists, collect evidence, and investigate incidents when required
Compliance & Risk Management

Maintain and update the OHS risk register weekly

Ensure contractors appointed by Boxer have valid letters of good standing before work starts

Compile reports, document findings, recommend corrective actions, and follow up on implementation

Collaborate with internal and external departments to ensure full compliance

Provide hands-on training and guidance to new OHS staff
