Engen Vacancies – Fire Fighter

Who You Are

  • You have experience working in the Petrochemical industry.
  • You possess hands-on experience in Fire Fighting.
  • You excel in problem-solving and quick decision-making.

What You Have Done Before
Baseline:

  • HAZMAT Operations
  • NFPA 1001 Firefighter Certificate
  • Grade 12
  • Valid Code C Driver’s License
  • Driver Assessment
  • Physical Fitness Assessment
  • Valid Level III First Aid Certificate
  • 2 years of experience in a recognized Fire Brigade
  • Petrochemical Fire Fighter experience

Advantageous:

  • Basic Ambulance Assistant registered with the HPCSA

What You Will Be Doing
Key Accountabilities:

  • Implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to efficiently and effectively manage incidents.
  • Utilize Incident Management Strategies to prioritize Life Safety.
  • Proactively work to reduce the number of emergency incidents.
  • Track and assist with Fire Safety Inspections.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislative requirements.
  • Maintain all relevant equipment and vehicles to ensure they are fully operational and available for emergencies.
  • Support Engen Business Units with training, audits, and equipment readiness as needed.
  • Fulfill statutory responsibilities as outlined in the Fire Brigade Services Act 99 of 1987.
  • Adhere to the regulations of the Health Professions Council of South Africa.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with government authorities, business, and management institutions.

Professional Registrations:

  • SAQCC
  • HPCSA
  • SAESI
