PepsiCo Vacancies – Electrician-Isando Plant Snacks

PepsiCo is seeking a skilled Electrician to join the team at the Isando Plant Snacks facility. This role focuses on executing electrical maintenance, troubleshooting equipment failures, and ensuring maximum plant availability. The objective is to maintain electrical systems efficiently, ensuring compliance with production targets, quality standards, and downtime reduction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose equipment failures by working with technicians and analyzing performance prior to breakdowns.
  • Identify root causes using problem-solving techniques such as 5-Whys and RCA.
  • Use electrical test instruments to troubleshoot transformers, motors, switchgear, and other electrical components.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance by testing and adjusting electrical systems, replacing defective parts, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Perform routine electrical inspections, ensuring all equipment meets operational standards.
  • Execute scheduled electrical maintenance in alignment with planned maintenance protocols.
  • Complete job cards, requisition necessary parts, and update maintenance records.
  • Respond to plant breakdowns, assess failures, and implement repairs to restore functionality.
  • Maintain documentation of completed work and ensure compliance with GMPs and food safety standards.
  • Assist with mounting motors, transformers, and lighting fixtures, ensuring circuits align with specifications.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Qualified/trade-tested Electrician.
  • Minimum N3 Electrical Engineering qualification (N6 preferred).
  • Strong electrical fault-finding skills with the ability to interpret schematics.
  • Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in an FMCG environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and maintenance software (SAP preferred).
  • Wireman’s license is advantageous.
  • Understanding of Environmental, Health, and Safety Standards.
