Job Description
As our Engineering Supervisor (Jig Mechanical), you will:
Safety & Health Leadership
- Prioritize zero harm, fostering a safety-first culture and leading by example.
- Encourage transparent reporting of safety concerns and address workplace risks proactively.
- Monitor critical controls and conduct safety audits to ensure compliance.
- Evaluate team safety performance and ensure fitness for duty.
Performance & Maintenance Excellence
- Oversee equipment maintenance and repairs, ensuring minimal downtime and high availability.
- Implement preventative maintenance schedules aligned with production targets.
- Identify improvement opportunities and drive defect elimination through root cause analysis.
- Provide technical guidance to the team, ensuring adherence to best practices.
Operational & Compliance Management
- Manage maintenance plans, budgets, and asset integrity in line with company standards.
- Validate data accuracy, close work orders promptly, and report on maintenance trends.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, social, and contractor management requirements.
Team Development & Collaboration
- Coach and develop team members through Individual Development Plans (IDPs).
- Promote a high-performance culture grounded in inclusion and diversity.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver sustainable mining initiatives.
Qualifications
- N4 Technical qualification or equivalent.
- Relevant Engineering Qualification (NQF5).
- Occupational Red Seal Certificate (Mechanical or related field).
- Valid SA Driver’s Licence.
Technical Knowledge & Experience
- 5+ years in operational engineering within mining.
- Expertise in maintenance processes, budget management, and risk controls.
- Proficiency in mining industry standards, documentation, and legislative compliance.
