Overview:
Dis-Chem Pharmacies at Canal Walk is seeking a Cosmetic Cashier to support customer service at the point of sale while ensuring a world-class shopping experience. This role involves accurately processing transactions, assisting with merchandising, and delivering consistent, excellent customer service for Dis-Chem cosmetic and beauty products.

Minimum Requirements:

Essential:

• Grade 12 / Matric
• Minimum 6 months’ cashier or till operations experience
• Computer literate, proficient in MS Office
• Strong numerical skills
• Excellent command of English (written and verbal)
• Basic customer service skills
• Willingness to work retail hours

Key Responsibilities:

• Prioritize customers at the cosmetic till to ensure efficient and accurate transactions
• Assist with merchandising cosmetic products when tills are not busy
• Escalate serious or unresolved customer complaints to management
• Deliver high standards of customer care and service
• Establish professional relationships with customers
• Maintain personal hygiene and professional presentation
• Follow Dis-Chem’s 5-star communication principles
• Refer cosmetic sales queries to Cosmetic Consultants
• Manage accurate cash flow, including line voids and price changes approved by a supervisor
• Process all payments including cash, cards, vouchers, coupons, and loyalty cards
• Exchange merchandise and process authorized returns
• Maintain attractive and accurate merchandising displays, pricing, and stock layout
• Ensure cash is secured in the drop safe following standard procedures
• Adhere to security policies and verify all payments
• Keep daily takings confidential and report suspicious behavior
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation according to Dis-Chem standards
• Follow all Health and Safety rules, store policies, and uniform guidelines

• Knowledge of cash register operations and maintaining cash drawers
• Processing sales, refunds, and payments accurately
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
