About the Program
Dis-Chem is seeking a qualified Clinic Nurse Practitioner to join their team in Northlands. The primary focus of this role is to manage and operate a profitable Primary Health Care Clinic located within a pharmacy, ensuring services are delivered within the scope of a registered nursing practitioner.

Minimum Requirements

Essential:

• Grade 12 – Matric
• Tertiary qualification in General Nursing
• Degree or Diploma in Midwifery
• Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)
• BHF registration for Nursing Practitioner
• 2–3 years’ experience as a Primary Health Care Clinic Sister
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Advantageous:

• Minimum 5 years practicing as a Primary Health Care Clinic Sister
• Experience with Patient Record Systems, CKS, and Allegra

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver Clinic Nurse Practitioner duties according to industry regulations and best practices
• Manage clinic performance and set objectives to optimize patient care
• Ensure all clinic services are available and operational
• Maintain accurate patient records and follow up on communications
• Keep the clinic open and operational according to stated hours
• Process claims accurately and promptly
• Ensure all clinic stock and equipment are functional and sufficient
• Build and maintain positive relationships with patients, store and dispensary managers, colleagues, medical aids, suppliers, and community healthcare stakeholders

Competencies:

Essential:

• Strong knowledge of community health nursing, primary health care, occupational health nursing, family planning, cytology, IUD insertion, pharmacology, EPI/cold chain management, STDs, emergency care, HIV/AIDS counseling, breastfeeding support, pathology, and wound care
• Participation in quarterly CPD and in-service training with Dis-Chem
• Strong written and spoken English
• Understanding of financial implications related to clinic targets
• Strong analytical skills for monthly clinic statistics and commissions
• Emotional intelligence, entrepreneurial mindset, honesty, and trustworthiness
• Ability to manage both self and team, with self-motivation and direction
• Excellent time management

Advantageous:

• Bilingual
• Understanding of business objectives
• Additional courses: Baby Immunisation (DoH/Sanofi Pasteur), Family Planning (DoH), Primary Health Care, Breastfeeding, Disease Management

Special Conditions of Employment:
