Value Logistics is dedicated to ensuring efficient operations at stores and distribution centres by optimising back door processes, reducing delays, and supporting strong collaboration between retail and operational teams.

Purpose of the Job

The Back Door Specialist is responsible for visiting assigned stores and distribution centres to ensure smooth operations, address and resolve issues, and maintain effective relationships between back doors and Value Logistics operations. The role focuses on improving turnaround times, streamlining stock handling, and enhancing overall operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Relationship Management

• Build and maintain strong relationships with back doors, stores, and distribution centres
• Conduct monthly visits to each assigned back door to monitor operations
• Support back door teams in resolving operational issues and liaising with Value operations

Operational Oversight

• Understand back door processes, including receipt, dispatch, and returns, ensuring compliance and smooth stock flow
• Maintain and update back door and distribution centre requirements monthly
• Drive actions to completion according to deadlines
• Monitor and improve turnaround times at back doors
• Ensure smooth processing of bookings and escalate potential offloading delays
• Implement technology and process improvements to enhance efficiency
• Manage procedures to reduce returns

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Warehouse Management beneficial
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in Retail and Distribution Centre back door audits and problem-solving delayed offloading
• Own transport
