Beauty Academy Manager – Woolworths
Introduction
As the Beauty Academy Manager at Woolworths, you will enhance the capabilities of consultants within the Beauty Business Unit and ROG (Beauty) by implementing, maintaining, and coordinating a tailored learning framework. Your role ensures alignment between business processes, systems, and functional competence to drive excellence in beauty retail operations.
Job Description
Business Process Improvement
- Analyze process changes and their impact on operational workflows within Beauty and across the value chain.
- Collaborate with SMEs and HR to integrate updates into RACI models, KPIs, and job profiles.
Beauty Learning Strategy
- Identify skill gaps and learning needs in partnership with leadership, HR, and Continuous Improvement teams.
- Develop and prioritize training initiatives aligned with the Workplace Skills Plan (WSP) for Beauty and ROG.
Learning & Development Alignment
- Ensure all training programs align with Woolworths’ L&D strategy and people development framework.
- Stay updated with industry best practices and evolving learning methodologies.
Leadership Development
- Support leadership capability-building initiatives in collaboration with HR and OD teams.
- Integrate leadership programs into the broader Beauty training roadmap.
Competency Management
- Implement assessment tools to measure skills and identify ongoing training needs.
- Work with line managers to evaluate individual and team competencies.
Project Enablement
- Partner with project teams to address training requirements for new initiatives.
- Anticipate changes in processes or skills needed for smooth project execution.
Beauty Academy Governance
- Establish a structured learning framework for ROG Beauty Academy and Beauty H/O.
- Ensure training materials and methodologies reflect Woolworths’ brand standards.
- Oversee onboarding and continuous training for new and existing staff.
Training Coordination
- Develop and refresh training content with subject matter experts and external partners.
- Manage training schedules, logistics, and material archiving.
- Facilitate training sessions and oversee delivery against the approved plan.
Budget & Administration
- Monitor training expenditures to stay within budget.
- Maintain accurate training records and administration.
Minimum Requirements
- Honors degree in Education, Training, or a related field.
- 5–10 years of experience in product/process training, preferably in beauty retail.
- Strong background in HR, change management, and business processes.
- Expertise in facilitation, content creation, and learner engagement.
- Analytical skills to tailor training for diverse audiences.
- Stakeholder management and collaboration at all organizational levels.
- Familiarity with Woolworths’ FBH merchandising processes (advantageous).
- Proven ability to design training programs and assess learning outcomes.
- Knowledge of L&D methodologies, SA Skills Act, and ETA requirements.
