Buyer’s Assistant: Apparel – Woolworths

Introduction
We are looking for a detail-oriented and organised Buyer’s Assistant to support our Apparel Buying team at Woolworths. This role involves product administration, sample management, and preparation for key reviews and trade meetings. Strong coordination, attention to detail, and collaboration across teams are essential.

Job Description

Administration & System Management

  • Maintain and update PLM with accurate product data (e.g., images, colourways, packaging).
  • Integrate items from PLM to RMS and notify relevant teams.
  • Upload product photography and details for approved items in PLM.
  • Create and update select sets for in-store shoots based on weekly feedback.
  • Coordinate with E-comm, Marketing, and Selling teams on product changes.
  • Prepare price change documentation and update cost/selling prices in RMS.
  • Assist with weekly trade preparation and item reports.
  • Organise store visits, model stores, and roadshow communications.
  • Support in-store processes by preparing sample rails aligned with assortment plans.

Review Preparation

  • Work with the Sourcing & Production Assistant to ensure samples are available for reviews.
  • Prepare flow boards and presentation boards for Buying and Design teams.
  • Set up review rooms (layout, labelling, gridding, and minute-taking).

Sample Management

  • Track and organise samples from lab dips to production.
  • Collaborate with TPD, Buying, and Sourcing on approvals and sign-offs.
  • Ensure samples are available for fit reviews and marketing deadlines.
  • Coordinate samples with Online, Marketing, and Visual Merchandising teams.
  • Manage sample rails to reflect product development stages.
  • Prepare samples for trade, shoots, reviews, and sample shops.
  • Use production updates and trade feedback for product planning.

Minimum Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Minimum 2 years of admin experience in retail/apparel.
  • Buying support experience is an advantage.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (intermediate).
  • Knowledge of PLM and RMS systems is beneficial.
  • Strong understanding of retail procurement and product lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with sample management from lab dips to production.
  • Awareness of review preparation and presentation techniques.
  • Experience creating select sets for in-store shoots.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
