Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager (Finance) with expertise in financial consolidation, planning, and analytics. The successful candidate will lead transformational projects, manage finance-related system implementations, and ensure seamless delivery in alignment with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership & Delivery:
- Generate business requirements by collaborating with stakeholders and business analysts.
- Lead transformational delivery of finance capabilities.
- Oversee system and data solutions for finance reporting, planning, and analytics.
Core Tasks:
- Establish governance structures and workstreams.
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Manage risks, issues, dependencies, and budgets effectively.
- Optimize resource utilization and ensure project alignment with business cases.
- Implement formal change management processes (scope, budget, timeline).
- Drive agile methodologies, including sprint planning and backlog prioritization.
- Manage procurement, vendor contracts, and outsourced delivery.
- Facilitate smooth transitions from implementation to BAU support.
- Monitor and report on project progress using agile tools (e.g., burndown charts).
- Maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Chartered Accountant
- Relevant IT or Project Management certification
Experience:
- 8+ years managing multi-million Rand projects, reporting to executives.
- Proven experience in finance transformation (management reporting, planning, forecasting, regulatory reporting).
- Background in financial services (insurance, investments, lending) preferred.
- Experience managing outsourced projects in multi-vendor environments.
- Strong track record in business transformation and technical/data projects.
Knowledge:
- Project management principles, methodologies, and tools.
- Project lifecycle, planning, and control techniques.
- IT development and SDLC processes.
- Resource, financial, and vendor management.
- Familiarity with Asana (preferred).
