Senior Project Manager (IT – Software Development) – (CONTRACT)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager (IT – Software Development) for a contract role. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, coupled with a proven track record in leading complex IT projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Execution:

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, resources, and budget.
  • Lead project teams in executing plans efficiently, ensuring milestones are achieved on time and within budget.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions as needed.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including clients, team members, and third-party vendors.
  • Communicate project updates, risks, and issues clearly and promptly.
  • Ensure stakeholder expectations are managed and aligned with project goals.

Resource Management:

  • Allocate and optimize resources to maximize efficiency in project execution.
  • Collaborate with department managers to assign the right talent to project tasks.
  • Resolve resource conflicts and address challenges during project delivery.

Risk Management:

  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Proactively manage risks throughout the project lifecycle, adapting plans as necessary.

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure deliverables meet quality standards and client expectations.
  • Implement QA processes to validate project outcomes.

Budget Management:

  • Develop and track project budgets, ensuring financial discipline.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.

Team Leadership:

  • Inspire and guide project teams to foster collaboration and high performance.
  • Motivate team members to achieve objectives and overcome obstacles.
  • Provide performance feedback and support professional growth.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Drive process improvements by adopting best practices in project management.
  • Conduct retrospectives to capture lessons learned for future projects.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • IT Degree or Diploma.
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification.
  • 10+ years in IT, with 5+ years in software development.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC and experience from concept to deployment.
  • Financial Services or Insurance industry experience is advantageous.
  • Experience managing stakeholders across teams (onshore/offshore, Remote/in-person).
  • Proficiency in Agile/Scrum, JIRA, and Confluence.

Key Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, JIRA Portfolio, and Confluence.
  • Financial and business acumen.
