Core Purpose of the Role:
As a Branch Manager, you will lead branch operations and employees to deliver exceptional customer service while maximizing recovery ratios for auctioned vehicles. Your role ensures minimal theft, damages, and strict adherence to health and safety standards. By analyzing data and implementing strategic action plans, you will drive operational efficiency and contribute to business success.

Key Deliverables and Outputs:

Operational Management:

  • Organize and oversee daily branch operations for seamless internal and external customer service.
  • Maintain well-managed stock with minimal losses or damages.
  • Ensure accurate completion of checklists and proper stock placement in designated areas.
  • Optimize branch workflows and systems for peak efficiency.

Strategic Implementation:

  • Analyze business dashboards and reports to create actionable plans aligned with company strategy.
  • Address key operational metrics, including outstanding transactions, parts removal, asset movements, and yard space management.

Sales Management:

  • Oversee auction preparation and execution to meet recovery targets and minimize complaints.
  • Maintain high vehicle starting ratios for optimal sales performance.
  • Manage recoveries, cancellations, and customer queries to drive revenue.
  • Procure vehicles for auction, meeting set procurement targets.

People Management:

  • Lead and develop branch employees for high performance and attendance.
  • Partner with Human Capital to manage all employee-related matters.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and compliant work environment.

Query Management:

  • Serve as the primary contact for branch-related inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work cross-functionally to reduce sales cancellations and resolve issues efficiently.

Compliance:

  • Enforce strict health, safety, and operational compliance standards.
  • Report and investigate incidents promptly, ensuring adherence to FIC and POPIA regulations.

Internal and External Relations:

  • Build strong relationships with employees, suppliers, service providers, and customers.

Essential Competencies for Success:

Academic Qualifications:

  • Matric Certificate
  • Business Management or related tertiary qualification
  • Forklift Driver’s License
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Advantageous: MIBCO Bargaining Council certification

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years in a supervisory role
  • Proven success in vehicle sales and operational oversight
  • Experience leading diverse teams in achieving business goals
  • Comfort working in outdoor environments under varying conditions
  • Salvage industry background preferred
  • Advantageous: Insurance experience, cross-functional team leadership

Knowledge:

  • Vehicle identification and industry codes
  • Management best practices
  • Health and safety compliance
  • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • SMD and Barloworld policies
