Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Data & Analytics Strategy – Drive the company’s data agenda, ensuring governance, compliance, and fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making.
- Own Data Management – Standardize processes, maintain high data quality, and manage enterprise-wide data catalogues.
- Deliver Analytics Impact – Embed trusted insights across key functions including Finance, Risk, HR, Compliance, and Actuarial.
- Ensure Compliance & Technology Alignment – Partner with IT to strengthen governance and oversee secure, scalable data solutions.
- Inspire & Lead Teams – Build and mentor a high-performing data team focused on collaboration and continuous improvement.
Job Experience and Skills Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or Computer Science (Master’s preferred).
- 8+ years of experience in data, analytics, or technology roles within insurance, banking, or telecoms.
- 3+ years in leadership, bridging business and technology.
- Proficiency in Azure Synapse, SQL, metadata management, and Master Data Management (MDM).
- Proven track record in enterprise analytics and governance.
- Strong understanding of South African data compliance regulations.
