Job Overview:
Our client in Nelspruit is looking for a dynamic Business Development Executive to join their team. The successful candidate will drive market share growth by acquiring profitable new business accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a target list aligned with sales plans.
- Build and manage a new business pipeline.
- Design action plans for effective lead generation and market penetration.
- Deliver compelling proposal presentations to potential clients.
- Meet or exceed new business sales targets.
- Provide post-sale support to ensure client retention.
- Identify and capitalize on cross-selling/up-selling opportunities.
- Network actively to uncover new business prospects.
- Cultivate strong relationships with clients, insurers, and stakeholders.
- Keep clients updated on industry trends and market changes.
- Comply with FAIS regulations and company policies.
- Negotiate optimal insurance proposals and finalize client mandates.
- Facilitate smooth onboarding and handover to Account Executives.
- Maintain accurate client records (hard copy and digital).
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric certification.
- Level 4 FETC Short-term Insurance Qualification.
- FAIS Regulatory Exam passed.
- Higher Certificate in Insurance.
- Post-matric qualification (e.g., BComm Risk, Accounting, BBA) preferred.
- 7+ years in short-term insurance, with 5+ years in commercial sales/service (broking environment).
- Experience in medium-to-large commercial accounts.
- Proven track record in new business acquisition.
- Strong relationship management skills.
- Brokerage experience is advantageous.
