Store Manager – Cashbuild Vacancies
Job Purpose
The Store Manager is accountable for protecting and growing profitable market share by leading all store operations in line with Store, Divisional, and Company strategies while ensuring operational excellence, compliance, and exceptional customer service.
Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 with at least three years’ retail management experience, or five years’ related retail management experience

Well-developed business acumen and financial understanding
-
Strong leadership and people management skills
-
Proven administrative capability with strong attention to detail
-
Basic computer literacy
-
Ability to perform effectively under pressure
-
Valid driver’s licence with own transport preferred
-
Own cell phone
-
Sound knowledge of Health and Safety legislation in line with OHSA and relevant country regulations

Strong human resource management skills
Key Performance Areas
Strategic Management

Develop, implement, and manage the store’s strategic and business plans aligned with Divisional and Company objectives

Drive execution of approved strategic initiatives within the store
Market Share Growth

Grow transactions, sales, and market share in line with budgeted targets

Achieve sales budgets and sustainable growth objectives

Manage and promote customer loyalty programmes and third-party credit offerings

Develop and implement action plans to protect market share in competitive environments

Ensure store business plans are reviewed and updated as required
Customer Service

Lead the implementation and monitoring of the Customer Service strategy

Ensure an efficient and reliable delivery service in line with Company standards

Grow and maintain VIC and charge card customer bases

Recommend product range enhancements suited to local market needs
Asset Control

Manage and control shrinkage in accordance with Company policy

Safeguard all store assets, including cash, stock, and fixed assets
-
Manage debtors and credit exposure within the store
-
Analyse security requirements and implement appropriate controls
-
Ensure physical security measures are consistently maintained
Business Trade Licences
-
Ensure all required trade licences are valid, compliant, and renewed timeously where applicable
Human Resource Management

Manage manpower requirements in line with Company and Divisional strategies
-
Implement succession planning and career pathing within the store
-
Maintain open communication with employee forums and staff
-
Ensure effective training and development programmes are in place
-
Manage employee relations and performance within the store
Maintaining Store Standards
-
Conduct regular floor walks to monitor operational standards
-
Implement and manage performance improvement plans where required
-
Ensure compliance with Company policies, procedures, and audit standards
-
Maintain high housekeeping and merchandising standards
-
Ensure stores are consistently ready for business
-
Ensure store infrastructure, lighting, and racking are maintained in good condition
Stock Management
-
Ensure stock ordering and receiving processes comply with Company policy
-
Manage damaged, obsolete, slow-moving, and excess stock in line with approved procedures
Store Safety (OHSA) Standards
-
Manage all safety requirements in accordance with OHSA and applicable legislation
-
Ensure completion of safety checklists and appointment of safety representatives
-
Investigate, report, and manage all safety incidents
Expense Management
-
Manage store expenses in line with the approved financial model, benchmarks, and budgets
Insurance Claims Administration
-
Report all incidents to the relevant insurer promptly
-
Liaise with insurers regarding claims and documentation requirements

Submit complete and accurate claims documentation
