About the Role:
The General Manager will oversee the Telco & Special Projects portfolio, establishing a white glove logistics solution for DSV. This role provides strategic leadership to drive customer retention, new business development, and cross-silo collaboration while delivering innovative, technology-enabled last-mile logistics solutions that generate revenue and create value.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in end-to-end Supply Chain and/or Telecommunications industry
  • Proven track record managing account managers with responsibility for customer retention and business growth
  • Strong leadership, strategic planning, and management skills
  • Expertise in tender processes and solution development
  • Experience engaging with internal EXCO members
  • Strong presentation and communication skills

  • Experience managing special projects in the logistics sector

Computer Skills:

  • Advanced proficiency in DSV-specific Office Automation Systems

Qualifications:

  • Matric (essential)
  • Tertiary qualification (degree or diploma)
  • Own vehicle, valid driver’s license, and ability to work overtime and travel nationally

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership across Telco portfolio and special projects
  • Establish and manage white glove services for secure handling of servers and sensitive equipment across various industries
  • Drive customer retention initiatives and identify new business opportunities
  • Collaborate with other DSV business units to deliver integrated cross-silo logistics solutions
  • Respond to tenders, RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs, formulating tailored logistical solutions for Telco brands and special projects
  • Manage commercials, account management activities, and on-demand shipping under strict SLA adherence
  • Lead contract negotiations, annual increases, and ensure contractual governance
  • Engage and manage stakeholders internally and externally to drive operational efficiency and growth
  • Monitor financial performance, including P&L, budgeting, and understanding revenue and EBIT drivers
