Project Manager – Value Logistics

Purpose of the Job
The Project Manager is responsible for the hands-on management and delivery of projects across the logistics operation. This role requires full understanding of project scope, content, and operational impact to ensure projects are delivered within agreed timelines and achieve defined business outcomes. The position supports the Logistics division and collaborates with other business units as required.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Manage end-to-end project delivery, including continuous improvement initiatives

  • Work closely with IT, operations, and cross-functional teams to deliver project objectives

  • Apply structured project management methodologies to achieve measurable business outcomes

  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and timelines

  • Estimate project timelines and resource requirements

  • Assign roles and responsibilities across project tasks

  • Monitor project progress and ensure milestones and deliverables are achieved

  • Report on project plans, risks, and overall status to stakeholders

  • Communicate progress regularly and escalate potential risks or issues timeously

  • Ensure tasks are completed on schedule and project outcomes are met

  • Manage project administration, including meetings, agendas, minutes, action items, and distribution

  • Maintain accurate project documentation, records, and filing systems

  • Engage stakeholders and provide timely feedback throughout the project lifecycle

Project Analysis and Delivery Support

  • Conduct operational analysis and execute actions required to achieve project outcomes

  • Analyse and evaluate business and operational processes

  • Gather, document, and validate business requirements

  • Document analysis findings and project-related activities

  • Prepare reports and presentations on project progress and outcomes

  • Develop process documentation, workflows, and solution-focused materials

  • Conduct research to support project application and implementation

General Responsibilities

  • Perform general administrative duties related to project execution

  • Maintain housekeeping and organisational standards

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric)

  • Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Business Management advantageous

  • PMI certification preferred (CAPM or PMP)

  • Minimum of 3 years’ project management experience

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong administrative and organisational skills

  • High level of computer literacy

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Accurate reporting and documentation skills

  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills
