Job Description
We are hiring a Senior Engineer – Marine Structural to lead the design and evaluation of coastal and offshore infrastructure, including wharves, jetties, breakwaters, caissons, and floating structures. The role involves structural analysis under marine environmental loads (waves, currents, seismic) and close collaboration with geotechnical, coastal, and marine engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead marine structural design using industry standards (BS, Eurocode, API, PIANC).
  • Conduct static and dynamic structural analysis for wave impact, berthing loads, and seismic effects.
  • Assess corrosion protection, fatigue performance, and marine-specific detailing.
  • Collaborate with geotechnical teams on foundation systems (piles, caissons, gravity bases).
  • Prepare design reports, technical specifications, and construction documentation.
  • Support tendering, fabrication oversight, and on-site construction queries.
  • Implement quality assurance processes for marine structural projects.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership.
  • Partner with environmental specialists to integrate sustainability into designs.
  • Perform risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Engage with clients to present technical solutions.
  • Stay current with emerging marine structural technologies and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of post-qualification experience.
  • Registered with ECSA as Pr.Eng. for at least 3 years.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering (Structural), preferably M.Eng or MSc.Eng.
